In this “toddling” period, children in the Transition room will most likely begin, however shakily, to walk on their own. This is the major milestone in their quest for independence. As physical freedom is archived, they are ready to turn their absorbent minds toward more mentally and physically complex and challenging endeavors. Specifically designed and handcrafted sensorial equipment and educational toys in our Transition environment enable a child’s sensory exploration to fulfill his/her need for sorting, stacking, carrying, problem – solving, language acquisition, maneuvering, and color and taste discrimination.
